Introduction
We take care to ensure that neither modern slavery nor human trafficking exists in our business or in any part of our supply chain. Modern slavery is defined as slavery, servitude and forced/compulsory labour and human trafficking.
Our annual turnover is under £36 million and although we are not legally obliged to report on slavery and human trafficking, this statement is made in accordance with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Organisational Structure, Business and Supply Chains
We are a family run Norfolk based Building Contractor, operating solely within the UK. Our supply chain is all UK wholesale or retail suppliers of construction materials, plant and office supplies and sub contractors.
We are committed to paying the Living Wage to all our staff and we regularly review our terms of employment to ensure that they comply with all relevant legislation.
Policy on Slavery and Human Trafficking
We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business or in our supply chain. This policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implement and enforce effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere within our supply chain.
Due Diligence
We consider ourselves to be a ‘low risk’ business regarding slavery and human trafficking. However, we foster a culture that encourages the identification and reporting of any such risks within our business. We recruit all our employees directly, we do not recruit from outside the UK.
Assessing and Managing Risk
We have a whistleblowing policy in place and asses and monitor potential risk areas within our supply chain. We have a zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking, and as part of our annual review of our supply chain we require our suppliers and sub contractors to confirm they have a slavery and human trafficking policy in place and that they require the same from their supply chain.
We will ask suppliers and sub contractors to declare that they are not involved with nor have been subject to an investigation in connection with any offence involving slavery or human trafficking.
Training
We are providing appropriate training to ensure that relevant employees understand the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and supply chain.
