Broadland Business Park
This project has progressed rapidly since, but here’s a look back at some recent footage from our project at Broadland Business Park.
One year on from the official opening of the Norfolk Food Hall at the Royal Norfolk Showground, it’s fantastic to see how the project has become such a success for Norfolk.
At Smith of Honingham, we are incredibly proud to have been part of a project that celebrates local farming, local produce, and the very best of Norfolk.
Working alongside an outstanding team including REAL Consulting LLP, Brown&Co LLP, Rossi Long Consulting, QODA Consulting, Philip Waller, Appetite Me, and the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association, this fantastic development was brought to life through true collaboration and shared vision.
From the very beginning, the aim was to create something special for Norfolk — a destination that showcases how food is grown, produced, and enjoyed, while creating a “mini Royal Norfolk Show” experience throughout the year.
As local contractors, it has been a privilege for Smith of Honingham to help deliver a project that continues to support the region’s farming community while highlighting the strength of local businesses working together.
A huge congratulations to everyone involved in this fantastic project, and it’s great to see just how successful the Norfolk Food Hall has become one year on.

Between the rain showers and hail storms this week at the Old Hospital redevelopment, the skies suddenly cleared to reveal an incredible rainbow stretching from one end of the building to the other — a striking moment against the backdrop of this historic building transformation.

Norfolk Constructing Excellence 2026 Awards
It was a pleasure to attend the Norfolk Constructing Excellence Awards 2026 on Thursday evening.
Thank you for the invitation and the opportunity to be part of such a fantastic evening celebrating the very best of our industry.
It was brilliant to see Purdy Street, Salthouse win Residential Project of the Year. Smith of Honingham were proud to be the builders on this outstanding project, working alongside Broadland Housing Group, Aecom, Rossi Long Consulting Ingleton Wood and iM2 Ltd, as part of the wider delivery team. Together, the project created five beautiful affordable homes, thoughtfully and sensitively designed to Passivhaus principles using modern methods of construction.
Congratulations also to Broadland Housing Group on being named Client of the Year, and to Andrew Savage for receiving the Special Recognition Award — both richly deserved.
It was an honour to celebrate alongside the project and client team and to recognise the collaboration, skill and commitment that made this development such a success.
Our sincere thanks to Norfolk Constructing Excellence for hosting such an excellent event — a brilliant showcase of the outstanding projects, partnerships and talented teams helping shape the future of construction across our region.
