The countdown to the Royal Norfolk Show is well and truly underway!
One of the finishing touches arrived today as our branded cups landed for Stand 265.
It might seem like a small detail, but it’s another step closer to what promises to be two fantastic days of conversations, connections and collaboration at this year’s show.
We’re looking forward to welcoming clients, partners, suppliers and visitors onto the stand alongside Canham Consulting and LSI Architects, showcasing the projects, people and partnerships that continue to shape construction across Norfolk.

📍 Last Week’s Site Visit – Ilketshall St Lawrence, Suffolk
Last week we were back on site at Ilketshall St Lawrence, where excellent progress continues to be made across this development.
Working on behalf of East Suffolk Council, with REAL Consulting acting as Employer’s Agent, A Squared Architects leading the design and Rossi Long Consulting providing Civil & Structural Engineering services, this is another fantastic project for Smith of Honingham.
With construction moving forward at pace, it’s great to see the project continuing to take shape and the vision becoming a reality. Every visit highlights the quality, teamwork and collaboration between the client, consultants and site teams.
From the groundwork through to the structures now emerging across the site, progress is clear to see and reflects the expertise and commitment of everyone involved.

Inspiring the Next Generation at Ilketshall St Lawrence.
This morning, we were delighted to welcome pupils from Ilketshall St Lawrence Primary School to site for a behind-the-scenes look at the construction industry.
Joined by Jonathan, Gary and our H&S Champion, Bert, the children learned about the different roles involved in delivering a construction project, how a live site operates, and why health and safety is at the heart of everything we do.
A huge thank you to Tristan Smith, for sharing his knowledge and giving the pupils an insight into the construction process, while Bert helped demonstrate the importance of staying safe on site.
We’re now looking forward to seeing the pupils’ Bert health and safety poster designs over the coming weeks before selecting a winning entry. We can’t wait to see their creativity and ideas come to life!
It’s always fantastic to engage with local schools and inspire the next generation to learn more about construction and the exciting opportunities our industry can offer.

One year on from the official opening of the Norfolk Food Hall at the Royal Norfolk Showground, it’s fantastic to see how the project has become such a success for Norfolk.
At Smith of Honingham, we are incredibly proud to have been part of a project that celebrates local farming, local produce, and the very best of Norfolk.
Working alongside an outstanding team including REAL Consulting LLP, Brown&Co LLP, Rossi Long Consulting, QODA Consulting, Philip Waller, Appetite Me, and the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association, this fantastic development was brought to life through true collaboration and shared vision.
From the very beginning, the aim was to create something special for Norfolk — a destination that showcases how food is grown, produced, and enjoyed, while creating a “mini Royal Norfolk Show” experience throughout the year.
As local contractors, it has been a privilege for Smith of Honingham to help deliver a project that continues to support the region’s farming community while highlighting the strength of local businesses working together.
A huge congratulations to everyone involved in this fantastic project, and it’s great to see just how successful the Norfolk Food Hall has become one year on.
