We have been closely following and implementing guidance issued by the CLC, Government and the National Federation of Builders in order to ensure as we re-open sites the safest possible working environment for everyone on our sites.

We operate with a mix of private hosted and cloud based IT and telephony services, and were able to implement remote working for office staff within 24 hours. Our office staff who can work from home continue to do so, and can be contacted by email and on their usual direct dial numbers.

We are proactively implementing the NFB COVID-19 Site Operating Procedures, and each subsequent revision as the guidance develops.

In its COVID-19 Recovery Strategy published 11 May 2020, the Government has confirmed that construction is specifically ‘allowed to be open’ and the Prime Minister has ‘actively encouraged’ construction workers to go back to work. Alok Sharma, the Secretary of State for Business Energy & Industrial Strategy, confirmed that the SOP, which is aligned with Public Health England (PHE) guidance, must be implemented in the workplace.

The ‘NFB COVID-19 SOP’ builds on that guidance and incorporates the Government’s ‘Working safely during COVID-19’ guidance (published 11 May 2020) to ensure the safest possible working environment for our sites.
